Yea man I quite like Chthonic. I bought Relentless Recurrence and 7th Empyrean from ebay awhile ago. Kickass discs.
It seems that Chthonic are really popular in Taiwan.

Does anyone know when the new Shining - Halmstad album is released? From what I understand there was a release party on the 3rd. But I can't find any release date to buy online.

their early stuff was very much in the black metal vein. primordial are in my top favorite bands...simply amazing

Yes, they are great, and very original in addition to that. I think their new stuff is black metal, too. For instance, the riffing technique in End of Times is super black metal. The vocals aren't, but IMO Alan is one of the best vocalists in metal.
