Yes! I am on a big brutal death kick myself right now. It's the perfect music to listen to at work. It really keeps me awake. Like any genre, there is good and bad, though bdm in particular, much like bm, is filled with mediocre uber-generic bands.

For Ruin is good blackened death metal. However, I can imagine that narrow minded elitist idiots might say that the music has too much of a "Gothenberg" quality to it, simply because of the high pitched dual guitar melodies. This isn't always a bad thing, thought I agree many actual Gothenberg bands are indeed pretentious saccharin bullshit.
