From what I heard they were that awful mid range growl so unfortunately prevalent in the lighter realms of extreme metal. I can't stand it.

Saw these guys at a bar the other day and they were fucking awesome. Great guys. This stuff is great thrash with power metal influences.

Haha, I found their myspace probably about six months ago and listned to it. Can't remember how I stumbled across it.
Pretty awesome band though.
Is that Hansi Kursch singing on Possessed, or does it just sound like him?

I too found them a while back. I didn't realize until the concert that I'd heard them before, actually.

The new black dahlia murder is pretty good actually. and they still use death vocals.
what a horrible night to have a curse is probably their best song.
that or funeral thirst.

I saw the video for that and it sucked...
Closed Casket Requiem is my favorite by them. After another listen I'd say Miasma's nowhere near as good as Unhallowed.

So it occurs to me that the lyrics to Gun Barrel's Take Me To The Highway are completely lifted from Motorhead's Hellraiser (I hear Ozzy Osbourne also recorded that song, w/e, Motorhead's version is probably way better).
Motorhead:
Quote:
I'm living on an endless road
Around the world for rock and roll
Sometimes it feels so tough
But I still ain't had enough
I keep saying that it's getting to much
But I know I'm a liar
Feeling all right in the noise and the light
But that's what lights my fire
...
...
...
Walking out on another stage
Another town, another place
Sometimes I don't feel right
Nerves wound up to damn tight
Don't you tell me it's bad for my health
'Cos kicking back don't make it
Out of control, I play the ultimate role
Don't know how to fake it
|
Gun Barrel:
Quote:
I'm living on a highway
In a world of Rock`n?Roll
I'm living on an endless road
In a neverending show
And sometimes when I'm tired
I keep saying it's too much
But I know that I'm a liar
Cause that's what lights my fire
...
...
...
Another place another town
I still can't get enough
Walking out on another stage
I'm made of sterner stuff
And sometimes when I'm tired
I keep saying it's too much
But I know that I'm a liar
Cause thats what lights my fire
|
They didn't steal any music at all, though, and it's a great song.
You all should check out Gun Barrel.
Nothing on there off their first album, unfortunately.
