Need help. I heard this extreme song and the vocals/lyrics were in I think German(not rammstein) and the music was extreme and heavy with a melodic harmony at some point.

So what you're saying is....it was a german (but possibly not german because I don't trust you to know german from other germanic languages when you here it) metal band?

Listening to new Amon Amarth... it's cool so far. Lurve Johan's vocals!

I can't say that the album is brilliant, but it's very good, imo.

Abysmally mediocre to horrible albums that people are fellating this year:
In all probability the new Amon Amarth.
Nachtmystium - Assassins
Testament - Formation Of Damnation
Keep of Kalessin - Kolossus
Decrepit Birth- Diminishing Between Worlds
Meshuggah - Obzen
Preemptive strike on anyone bitching at me:
Shut up and take it for what it is- the opinion of some guy on the internet.

The new Nachtmystium is overhyped only by those who say it's better than Instinct: Decay, which it clearly isn't.
The new Keep of Kalessin is so overrated it makes me sad. It's listenable, but for sure their worst album.

I love the new Keep of Kalessin. Armada is significantly better, but Kolossus still kicks ass.

Have you even heard their first two?
But I guess it takes a more Black Metal-oriented mind to comprehend their superiority. I'm just angry at how the band acts like Through Times of War and Agnen never existed.

People keep saying that, but everything I've heard indicates that the rest of the album will be better, and that song didn't really blow me away.

I was gonna bitch at you for the amon amarth thing but then I saw this and I actually decided not too.
Anyhow, please wait till it comes out before dismissing it.

The chorus of the new Amon Amarth is ripped of one Czech country song. The refrain is "Na hradě Okoři, světla už nehoří..", it's a song that little children sing in pre-school.
(lame)
EDIT: if I had to describe it in a mature way, they choose absolutely simple melodies to appeal at first listen, however, it's a bit stupid for someone who hear a little bit. The cd will be succesful, that's sure.

I've heard Through Times of War, but never Agnen. I like Times of War, but Armada is more epic.

I gotta say this, Aura Noir's "Black Thrash Attack" song's opening riff is stolen from Kreator's "Storm of the Beast" song's opening riff.

That's like Whiplash stealing the riff to The Antichrist in one of their songs. Or Destruction stealing the riff in a Kreator song for Mad Butcher
