Overkill - Immortalis

What do you guys think of the new Overkill record? They are consistent. The new album has some good stuff on there....

It's a pretty solid release. Only listened to a few tracks so far but I liked it.

bad. it sounds more like a rock album and less thrash and isn't that heavy and is just all around boring, relix was a lot better and all the albums before were even better. i'm also not one of those people who says OMG THE NEW ALBUMS OF ALL BANDS ARE GHEY ONLY THE DEMOS ARE GOOD since i liked relix but this album just doesn't cut it, i was disappointed except for the first track which i liked.

Devil in the Mist, Overkill V, and Skull and Bones are the best tracks on that album. I don't care what anyone thinks, that duet with the dude from Lamb of God was pretty cool. It's something different that Overkill never did before.

It'a a very solid disc. I agree that Overkill is a very consistent band. I haven't met one person that doesn't like Overkill.

Everything after Horrorscope isn't worth owning.

The only essential Overkill album is Years of Decay.

I agree with you 100%. I just uploaded my review and it's a solid record...

I am an admitted Overkill fanboy and even I think that the last album was a disappointment. Granted it had some decent songs, but the only one I find myself wanting to hear anymore is "Old School".

I haven't heard this new one yet, but these reviews are not making me too excited about that idea. After this they may loose their spot as my favorite band of all time. So this better be good!

Sadly that is not bad advice generally speaking. There are precious few bands that could be considered an exception to this rule. Regretably, it's probably about(at least)98% true(particularly among larger "name" acts.)

I'm thinking of getting this one. Killbox was awesome and Relix had a great opening track. But its still shitty if they're turning into a rock or heavy metal band
