Riff Thieves
Blut Aus Nord ripped off Jimi Hendrix.
Jimi Hendrix Experience - "Love or Confusion" - 1:25 to 1:55 sounds very similar to the latter half of "Our Blessed Frozen Cells" from The Work Which Transforms God.
And yes, this thread is for finding such similarities.

Heaven Shall Burn BLATANTLY ripped off the riff to Carcass' This Mortal Coil on their newest one

I hear the same riffs all the time in music, there are only 12 notes and only so many patterns. The more music you hear the more you'll hear similarities with riffs, and some artists do rip others off on purpose and sometimes obviously coincidentaly.

Keyboard "riff" plagiarism (or melody, rather, whatever):
The ass-clowns of Norway, Dimmu Borgir
