Gorgoroth has 2 good albums. I'll give you that.
1349 is the Behemoth of the black metal community. Perfect for people who like shitty black metal.
I can't stand Cannibal Corpse, at all. I'll only give them credit as being one of the "important" Florida DM bands. I still hate their music.

If your gona say 1349 is shit I'm fine with that but compare them with another band anyway. Your probably going to get flamed by 12 other people shortly (I predict). I sort of understand where your comming from though. But theres goto be some Cannibal Corpse you like, you can't really hate the band.

People can say what they will. Won't change my mind about these shitty bands put on a pedestal by their fans as some sort of metal elite.
and I've yet to hear any Cannibal Corpse that made me change my mind. I can't stand CC, Hate Eternal or Deicide. I like plenty of Florida DM, just not those.

Butcher At Birth? Gallery Of Suicide? Tomb Of The Mutilated? Your telling me you can't find a song off those albums at least? Screw Hate Eternal but as for Deicide, check out their s/t and legion.

Okay its fair enough to not like CC or Hate Eternal but to not like Deicide's s/t or Legion is just mad.

I'll admit it has been at least 5 years since I gave Deicide a fair listen. I definitely remember not liking Legion, Once Upon the Cross, and Serpents of the Light. Didn't bother with anything else.

My friend is a big deicide fan, actually a big death metal fan in general. He pretty much got me into cryptopsy's none so vile.
Speaking of death metal; was listening to hypocrisy's abducted earlier and was pretty bored with it. I couldn't help but feel forced to like it, and kept it on my ipod for a while. In the end it's not that it is a bland album, I just feel for being their pinnacle I was expecting better.
I had also discovered them about 2 years prior and found some songs that were stellar from other albums, but couldn't remember which one they were since SOMEBODY deleted all my 4k or so songs that I downloaded. (yes I download - screw u)
20 YEARS OF CHAOS AND CONFUSION.

Nosferatu is pretty good, I guess. Too hyper. Anyway, Fates Warning are better. I need to get me Burning Star

I'm not going to defend my views anymore. Some of the more "questionable" albums(ha, as if there is such a thing) that I like, are ones I've been pre-acquainted with before, so they hold some nostalgic value. And Behemoth was one of my gateway bands, so what? Much like Satyricon, who are not as bad as people say, and yes, Dimmu Borgir. Nightwish fall into the same category. Their music is incredibly fluid despite being poppish and cheesy. But then, all of metal is cheesy; why dwell on pointless subdivisions?
Can't stand Deicide, tbh.

I'll take a leave of this board to calm down perhaps. Like I've done before. Anyway, the ignore function is there for a reason; instead of expressing your distaste for a certain member, you can quietly push that virtual button instead of parading it in front of everyone.
And I know that sometimes I'm acting like a self-righteous baboon; music is a passion for me,not just a hobby, and I'm trying to convert it into words. Sorry if that rubs some people the wrong way, Cyth, et al.
Also, I'm still not sure why people are so blindly biased against anything remotely mainstream.
EDIT
Give a Dimmu Borgir album to a Britney Spears fan; do you think he'll like it? Also, who am I to dismiss someone's taste based on their liking of Britney Spears? There are sub-stratas of mainstream in both rock/pop and metal. So what if someone likes something remotely accessible?
What about all this love for classic 60s rock bands like The Beatles and The Beach Boys, for instance. They are the Nightwish-es, Evanescenses and Madonnas of today(I'm stretching here). It's simply that their status as a cult band has been romanticized by nostalgic critics and lonely housewives.Or whoever else.

One of the few times I totally agree with Wainds, except that I can't stand the Beatles at all.

Good. Now that it's all over I wonder what was the point of starting all this again.
Live and let live. We're all brothers in metal despite difference of opinion.
I'm still at work, tired as fuck, and yet I'm posting here.
Internet message boards are a devilish addiction.

Oh, come on! you take things way too seriously( as I have for the last two pages )
But you like some power metal though?
Anyway, we need Carcassian back here. So he could tell us to shove all of our shitty opinions about music up the ass, and nail our balls to a wooden board about to be cut by a saw. Or something to that extent.
And listen to nothing but Necroticism for years on end. Ah, I miss that crazy guy.
A shame I don't share his wit and humor, so all you've got is two pages worth of florid sensationalistic bla-bla-bla
