I listen mostly to metal, but I also enjoy punk, some hard rock, and prog rock (Tool, Porcupine Tree)...I really like metal that has classical influences as well. I don't like rap or any kind of hip-hop or techno at all though since I just don't like it a all like everyone else at my school who's always talking about ak0n and eminem...I like a bit of classic rock too I guess, but not as near much as prog rock/metal...

As of now I listen to only metal. I have nothing against most other styles of music, but either they're not for me or I haven't heard them yet.

90% of the music I hear every day, on average, is metal. Metal is the only music I spend money on. However, I tend to listen to the classic rock station when I'm in the car, especially with my friends or my mother. When my father's in the car we play classical music.

Well if you don't buy it, or are listening to it because of someone else, it does not count. I only spend money on metal, and it's the only thing I listen to when by myself, save for once in a blue moon when I decide to listen to one of the few hardcore or punk bands that I like.
I actually help out a friend of mine by playing in a band with him, and the music overall isn't metal, but the riffs are, and the picking technique is very metal influenced (I write all the guitar). Still, I like what we play, mostly because of my metal influenced guitar, and we get played on local stations like WAAF and WBCN.

You can listen to music without buying it.

Of course. If you are with a friend, and they are listening to their CD, or if you are at a club, bar, or function, where mainstream crap is being played. And, of course, downloading. I also pretty much only dl metal, and pretty much everything I dl is out of print.

I listen to classic rock and classical because I enjoy listening to it. It just happens to be that my parents also enjoy classic rock and classical, so when I'm with them, we can all enjoy listening to music.

Yeah. My mom likes classical music a lot. I can enjoy it as well. But I never listen to it on my own.

I enjoy a variety of underground metalcore and hardcore, a lot of it MA local. I enjoy the occasional chug-a-chug riff or beakdown, I guess. I also like a lot of hard and classic rock, classical, etc.
I still listen to mostly metal, though.

I'm sort of open minded. I like classical, jazz, prog/classic rock, and one hip-hop song.
