With regards to the hot girls thread... Deron is right that he can get unwanted attention, be it the cops or parents or religious groups... the "teen" pics bordered on porn and this country has a law that if they are models then the owner of a site has to put a "2257" disclosure... you will see such a link for a "2257" in most adult sites and model sites... it's usually at the bottom of the site... it pretty much states that the owner of the site keep records of the models names, ages etc. and if the pics are from another site then Deron in this case would have to keep a record of each site those pics came from... more hassle then it's worth.. and since Deron owns this site he can do whatever the fuck he wants including deleting whatever thread he wants.. when you own your own site you can do what you want with it... even break the law if you don't care... btw I do miss the thread though.. was entertaining...

So, is Deron going to close every thread that becomes 50-ish or more pages long? Does that mean we're not allowed to have any of the following popular threads?

- love/hate thread
- black metal thread
- "music you like" thread
- "now playing" thread
- hauls thread
- many of the thread games (well... okay, they can go)

If closing big threads is the only thing that's going to be done to remedy their drain on the site's resources, then at least put up a new thread for the topic each time you close an old one, and maybe start some kind of numbering/dating system in the thread titles so that people can look for older ones if they want to.

deron has threatened to close the music you like thread and maybe the now playing thread. he also has closed some of the games threads. of the list you just posted, the only threads of value, in my opinion, are the black metal thread and the music you like thread. the now playing thread seems pretty pointless to me. Get an audioscrobbler if you want people to know what you're listening to.

My point was that some topics are destined to be popular, and thus to accumulate tons of posts. It seems pretty moronic to me to not allow any popular threads at all to exist.

Well the social/photo thread obviously had a purpose. Two really. One is posting pictures obviously, the other is to direct all of the extraneous bullshit discussions into one thread.

Yeah, I understood that you were trying to point out Deron's hypocrisy er whatever. And it would be moronic to try and control the length of discussion, but when there's nothing important being discussed (and I'm guessing this is the case in the now playing thread I'm not sure I haven't visited it in ages), why bother having the thread?

The pictures thread was useful and did have a purpose.

Wtf the pictures/social thread did not deserve to be locked. I scrolled through the pages and found nothing offense or harming at all on there that deserved to be locked. What's wrong with the mods, the forums was going so well until the mods did another wrong but w/e nobody's perfect. The girls thread I can understand even though it was one of my most favorite threads but the Pictures/Social thread? God...

As much as I liked the thread, I have to agree it was getting out of hand. Those underage photos were foul. Deron did the right thing.

I dont give a shit about the hot girls thread, if you wanna wank, go on a porn site, or google image search for shit. But like Zep said the photo thread had now gone which sucks.
