The people living in urban areas in the Midwest are not bad, and considering that the large majority of the population are living in urban areas, it's time to lay off the Midwest. So the rural types are only marginally better than southerners; that's not that much of the population. People in Chicago are overwhelmingly not church nuts, and they're not backwards or anything. I think you can expect much of the same in Milwaukee, St. Louis, Cleveland, Cincy, Minneapolis, etc.

Anywhere else that's good in America? Would Seattle or a suburb of Seattle be a good place or where? I need to decide in the next year or 2, I'm planning on moving right after I graduate college, which is May 2010.

move to colorado and start a band with me. its very friendly, crime is low, balanced culture, and costs are relativly low. plus the outdoor activities like skiing and backpacking are second to none!

i talk alot of trash about california, since i lived there. but it really isnt that bad. very expensive though. everything is in california. culturally its awesome, even if there are massive amounts of liberals there.

i also lived in oregon. loved every day of it. i didnt want to leave, but i didnt have much choice in the matter.

but come to colorado springs. UCCS is a decent school too

seattle's fucking awesome. I went there a few years ago and had a blast. it may be a little expensive too, but you could probably find something decent in Tacoma or someplace right outside seattle
