the only reason its banned is because the level of thujone in absinthe is typcailly above the FDA's standard. thujone is a chemical that can kill you in high doses. but lucid, while strictly abiding to the recipe used in the 1800s, has a level below the legal limit. therefore its ok to sell. its on their faq page.
sadly i learned today that i still cant drink it while in the airforce. much like sodomy, its legal in the US, but not in the UCMJ. although... i have gotten head since i enlisted, and i dont know how they can test for this... maybe a sample is in order...
