Good call, but the loveable negro from Green Mile always is a tear jerker for me. I wish I could give that man a huge huge. The Shawshank Redemption is actually a pretty realistic book in terms of that shit like that actually happens, not particularly what I want from a Stephen King book but still a masterpiece. What was the book he wrote about the killer automobile? Now that was fucking halirious.

Dan Abnett is far superior as a writer.

Has anyone seen the movie version of The Langoliers? I'm sure it sucks but I really liked it when I was a kid

Christine... and that was a disgrace to modern literature.

The Stand.
Fucking perfect. I read the extended version. There was not a single part that I thought deserved to be taken out.

I haven't read any of his novels but I've seen a ton of Stephen King-based movies.
Great:
- Shawshank Redemption
- The Green Mile
Decent:
- The Shining (The mini-series sucked though, why would you put the guy from Wings in it, why!?! Not to mention a child that was even more obnoxious than the one from the movie.)
Fucking atrocious:
- Everything else

I remember when Stephen King wrote a book based on a MLB relief pitcher known as Flash Gordon.
