In my view ebay should just go to hell and let people sell whatever they want, but that's not up to me.

By that reasoning, eBay should ban all German WW2 memorabilia. Not all Black Metal is blatantly hateful to Christianity, and not all Nazi propaganda was hateful to Jews. So if you're banning a whole genre of music because part of it is hateful, then you might as well ban all Nazi memorabilia.
And what end is eBay trying to accomplish, anyway? Wouldn't they rather have reputation for supporting free trade?

Pretty much. If that's their policy it makes sense to ban black metal, as it is after all generally pretty hateful stuff. A lot of death metal would fall under that too.

Yeah, it pisses me off too, but eBay has a policy that doesn't seem that unreasonable and they're sticking to it. I blame the whiners more than eBay.

WW2 memorabilia isn't implicitly hateful at all. And they don't seem to be banning all black metal, just the aryan/nazi stuff.

They should also ban all violent movies...violent video games...other hateful genre music...and plenty of other hateful or violence related items.
Do you think they would ban The Sopranos seasons DVDs for promoting a lifestyle of crime if it was their biggest selling item?

They'd rather not be boycotted by what I can only assume is a large portion of their community; faggot Christian rightwingers.
