The re-recording of Stormblast completely gays up the album. It not only butchers and at parts alters the original pieces, but it also does so with a horridly unsuited production that entirely takes away from the original experience, making it sound basically just like all the other crap they've been putting out lately. And yes, I'll admit that I've heard Stormblast recently, and I even really quite enjoyed two or three songs, though in general it's quite dull. I have a copy of the album that I've shunned from my collection but that I have not brought myself to sell.

The original one is actually fairly good, but there is much better symph-black metal.

The re-recording doesn't sound anything like more recent DB. The production is more atmospheric while still oppressively guitar-driven. Of course this is what you expect from the same person who produced Hypocrisy's latest.
