I've devised a system with my roommate with regards to when our girlfriends are over.

For me, if I write "SPQR" on the whiteboard, that means "Knock first".
If the "SPQR" is enclosed in a shield, that means "access denied".

For him, he'll use the outline of the Apple logo, and fill it in if needs be.

Not that I've ever done it, but I think writing erotic Inspector Gadget fanfic would be right up there on the list of nerdy things one could go.
