Sebkha Chott @ P60 Amstelveen
Sebkha Chott, Next Level Prog at P60
The French Avant-garde band Sebkha-Chott specializes in doing everything the gods of rock told them not to. Held together firmly by singer and chief Wladimir Ohrelianov II, this eccentric collection of misfits have developed themselves as the circus act of progressive rock. On May 4th, they will cross over from their dimension onto Amstelveen’s P60 stage.
Metal, disco, techno, even big band. The most outlandish of musical mixtures are thrown together by this Le Mans eight-piece. In 2008, they first found themselves centre stage in Amstelveen. By then, the unlimited imagination of Ohrelianov and his henchmen already seemed to exceed even the noble art of music. Come 2012, a night with Sebkha-Chott still lies somewhere in between a burlesque Cabaret show and a rock concert, a bizarre combination of a Fellini nightmare and a Monty Python sketch.
This tribe of extraordinary madmen first set foot on our planet in the year 2000 AD. But rest assured, they come in peace. Sort of. Ohrelianov brought Yüla Slipovitch, VaGoDor Deu Sahpun, Tzom Trümb, Siphon Trounezöhle, Jules Lefranc-Gaulois Kaïser, Capt’ain Roses and Benoît Popol II along for the ride. A ride you will not soon forget.
It’s a near impossibility to catch this group’s style into words. Sebkha-Chott is best enjoyed live. Seeing is believing! Note: Sebkha-Chott is not suitable for those with a conservative taste in music. Only the most adventurous of music lovers with a preference for the theatrical will truly appreciate it.
Ticket’s are available at the P60 website (p60.nl), all Primera stores and Ben’s Corner
