LUDICRA

Anyone else think these guys would be a great fit? Straightforward black metal band from the San Francisco Bay Area led by John Cobbett from Hammers of Misfortune.

No gimmicks, just black metal without strings attached and incorporating various speeds to keep things interesting.

Nice. Also, I would be happy to throw my sponsorship money towards them if none of the bands I picked in the sponsorship thread get chosen.

I dig the myspace tracks. Another USBM band to check out for a possible opener is Battle Dagorath, really good album this year!

/\ Battle Dagorath really need to get more tracks up on their Myspace page, only having one track isn't enough of a sampling size. Sounds like the pieces are in place, though I preferred the latter half of the song with the more uptempo pace.

Another USBM band I've been digging is Kult ov Azazel from Florida:

What I like about HC is that it has the opportunity to showcase some of the best bands from domestic North America. Quite honestly, why go to the dark outer reaches of Moldova when you can bring in the likes of Ludicra from San Fransisco.

Throw in Slough Feg for another round and you've got Cobbet and Scalzi under the same roof. We can get them to shake and make up and before you know it, the original Hammers of Misfortune are booked for HC 4.
