Needless to say, for those of you who attended Ozzfest 2005, this is the LAST TIME I will ever attened anything involving the Osbourne family.
Maiden were treated like shite. Their PA was cut off several times... apparently on purpose. They were pelted with EGGS!!! Some twat started running around with an American flag during The Trooper, and the guy who brought the bands onstage started yelling OZZY, OZZY!!! Did I mention that Maiden were still onstage having just finished the last song!? Then... to top that shit up, Sharon Osbourne comes on stage and thanks Maiden, then proceeds to insult Bruce Dickinson. She called him a prick, and said that he had disrespected Ozzfest from the beginning... Sharon probably hated the anti-corporate rants Bruce would unleash... Since she sold out a LONG TIME ago... I was sooo fucking mad that I left. And I wasn't the only one!

A complete disgrace.

I was there and it was a complete fucking disgrace... the ENTIRE Ozzfest production. What a waste. I'm DAMN GLAD I opted to fly to Denver for the full set... I was feeling guilty on the money spent to do so, but now I feel 1000% justified....

My first and LAST Ozzfest. UGH.

And ladies (Sara, Wanda and Linda) Howdy and it was nice seeing you all there... Sorry the show was such a wash. The boys did handle the adversity very well though, I might add.

Holy shit. I was there, I didn't stay for Sabbath and left during Sanctuary. I can't even fucking believe this. Sharon came out on stage and dissed Bruce Dickinson????? Oh god I swear to christ if I were to ever see that stupid bitch on the street I would slap her fucking face. I have always hated that bitch. I have dealt with her personally in the music biz. She is a total cunt, sorry for my language ladies, but you know what FUCK HER. Thats why I didn't stay for Black Sabbath, and now it proves my point about her even further. I am so embarresed for Iron Maiden, I feel like I was personally dissed as well.

Throwing eggs at the band members, bringing a guy out with the American flag with Pro OZzy shit written on him, turning the sound off during their performance, and having that asshole start an OZZY OZZY chants right before Maiden came on the stage was fucking absolutely the most disrespectful thing I have ever witness. THANKS TO SHARON MAIDEN WILL PROBABLY NEVER TOUR THE USA AGAIN.

Bruce said that they will be back. I don't use the "C" word lightly, but I used it tonight... I'm a lady and not offended IronMaidenFan09. It was absolutely pathetic of her do that. I can't believe people still buy her shit after she sells out her family to MTV and makes Ozzy look like a buffoon in national tv. (Yeah, he is drugged out and not entirely there, but we don't have to see it... she made him a laughing stock... and he probably was totally unaware)... Very sad...
That host asshole started to shout Ozzy! Ozzy! when maiden were still onstage! Bruce had had enough and said something to the fact that he wasn't going to put up with it, and neither should the rest of us... that is when the mass exodus happened.
Complete fucking disgrace. This seems to be the consensus... I'd like to hear from those who finished the show ... anyone... Bueller???

I stayed, I left as soon as Paranoid ended, and heard Children Of The Grave as I was running to the parking lot. What surprised me was how many people raised their hands when Bruce asked how many people had never seen Maiden before. It was my 19th Maiden show.

A fucken men, I've hated Sharon for years and wish she had died back when she got cancer but this is definitely the last straw. I really had no desire to see Black Sabbath but the friends I was with did want to see them. That was until Sharon insulted not only one of the best bands in the world but one of the best metal singers bar none. We left right before that stupid Black Sabbath intro started. And I'm really really happy to say that we weren't the only ones leaving. Sharon fucked up and pissed off the wrong fans.

Like a lot of people here and on iron maidens website have said, I WILL NOT be going to another ozzfest again.

I do not wish Cancer on Sharon at all. I've seen family members die from it. But she does deserve to be brought down a few notches. I used to respect her, being a woman, as an example of someone who doesn't back down. But what she did last night was childish and disgraceful.

I went to last nights Ozzfest and I think that Sharon needs to be brought down! How dare she treat Iron Maiden with disrespect! With her fucking stupid crap she also disrespect Maiden fans! After Sharon's episode went down I could not stay through the full set of Black Sabbath, and upon making my exit I looked around to see that the venue was empting out with fans that where feed up with Sharon's shit. Then too top it off, I ended the night by setting in that fucking parking lot for two half hours. Bruce said that the band will be back and I'll be their when they do, but I'll be dame to ever go to another fucking Ozzfest again!

Try as I may, I just can't get into Janick... his theatrics may entertain kids, but I'd rather he played his damn guitar than swing it around... plus, he's sloppy as all fuck. Kinda bums me out Adrian get's the short end of the stick... seems like Janick hasn't affected Davey's portion of solos...

Yea Adrian has been breaking out his old SG on this tour, mainly because he has that one setup in Drop D tuning. There are several songs that he now plays in Drop D to add new dimmension to it, especially since there's 3 guitars now and it's a little silly ALL to be playing in the same register.

Ironically, the first tune he started playing in Drop D, Wrathchild, he's NOT doing in Drop D on this tour. I talked with him about that at the Rockwalk thingy... I have this old "instructional" video clip from guitar.com that he demos Drop D and it's pretty interesting. Mainly just him talking about various solo techniques, warming up exercises and then him jamming.

Looks like you've all learned what most people in the industry have known for years. The apple didn't fall far from the tree. Sharon is Don Arden's daughter, after all.

Bruce's comments were great. They are all over Blabbermouth right now. I'm glad someone had the stones to say it, and figures it's him. Steve Harris has too much class to publicly slam someone like that, even if he thinks it.

And I had no intention of going to Ozzfest. Aside from the heat stroke, all the bands I wanted to see were on the second stage, except for In Flames. So how were they, Arch Enemy and Soilwork? I can't wait for them to do headline tours, so I can see them in clubs.

Arch Enemy was great... their set was way too short (only 20 minutes) and they played mostly stuff from the Anthems of Rebellion. We got to have our cds signed by the band afterwards. They were all really sweet.
I didn't get to see Soilwork.
Tried to come back for Rob Zombie, but what I saw was quite... boring!
Outside of Maiden, In Flames were the best part of the main stage. BLS was CRAP. I'm sorry, but Zakk can't sing. That video for the song he wrote for Dimebag was touching... the song was crap...

It was interesting to read that quite a lot of people unfamiliar with an Iron Maiden show viewed the use of the British flag during The Trooper by Bruce as being anti-American or as showing the band's reaction to the United States' foreign policy. What these people don't realize (and what most people in this Forum know) is that the flag/The Trooper have been part of the Iron Maiden show ever since Piece of Mind . . .read the lyrics . . .

Zakk Wylde did suck but I think the worst band by far on the Main stage was Slipknot. They were a joke. Their sound was aweful. You could barely even make out what songs they were playing. Crowd was almost asleep during them. Only the die hard Slipknot fans were into it, and I think even they were like 'man these guys really suck live"

The girls and I had a lot of fun at the show and Maiden did great in spite of problems with their sound and other things. I also enjoyed seeing Black Sabbath who also put on a good show. No point dwelling on any negativity. Hopefully, whatever drama there was will end up being only a misunderstanding that will soon be resolved. If it weren't for Ozzfest, we might not have been able to see a Maiden classic set here so for that, I'm grateful.

I was on the wall of the lawn: so couldn't see Steve too well, but could sense his ignobility as "Ozzy" was blasted through the PA after the show.
Bruce was injured last time he was here by liquid on the stage, so this is truly terrorism.

When she came on stage and attacked Bruce that was the most Orwelian thing I have ever seen Big Mother.

To humiliate and trash a band of that proffesional magnitude is to stoop to the level of Bin Laden and Zakowi.

The best thing we can do is be more and more new age and loving towards Maiden.

The other tragidy here is that wer'e supposed to think Sabbath are scum because of her. I was humiliated to stay but I had never seen Bill play before.

You could barely even make out what songs they were playing. Crowd was almost asleep during them. Only the die hard Slipknot fans were into it, and I think even they were like 'man these guys really suck live"

I also enjoyed seeing Black Sabbath who also put on a good show. No point dwelling on any negativity. Hopefully, whatever drama there was will end up being only a misunderstanding that will soon be resolved. todd stock Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Posts: 27	A Humiliating Retreat I was on the wall of the lawn: so couldn't see Steve too well, but could sense his ignobility as "Ozzy" was blasted through the PA after the show. Bruce was injured last time he was here by liquid on the stage, so this is truly terrorism. When she came on stage and attacked Bruce that was the most Orwelian thing I have ever seen Big Mother. To humiliate and trash a band of that proffesional magnitude is to stoop to the level of Bin Laden and Zakowi. The best thing we can do is be more and more new age and loving towards Maiden. The other tragidy here is that wer'e supposed to think Sabbath are scum because of her. I was humiliated to stay but I had never seen Bill play before.
