Firewind

A friend of mine forwarded me this music video. It's a Greek metal band called Firewind. What do you guys think?

BTW, they're performing at House of Blues this Friday. Unfortunately, that's the same night Iron Maiden will be in Irvine.

They're not bad. I'm gonna see them opening for Arch Enemy this thursday. Their guitar player Gus G. used to be in one of my favorite bands, Dream Evil. He also played for Arch Enemy briefly when Christopher Amott took some time off.

hmmm I kinda agree with acujer.

The first one the video is sooooo cheesy and cliched its hard to believe they are a modern band.

Second one, well sorry but its a poor cover, the original was pretty bad anyway.

They arent bad musicians, but I dont like this stuff they are producing.

Their influence is very 80s, but one thing I like about them is they are a band, not a vehicle for an egotistical guitarist who spews out endless strings of notes. Gus G knows how to restrain himself and keep his playing within the context of the song. You don't see that much these days. Hats off to him for that.

They're not too bad but not exactly amazing either.
