What's you favorite 80s band that no longer plays?
Mine is Oingo Boingo.
I seen them 5 times, been backstage twice, met them all, and know almost every word to almost every song.

There was this one band that called themselves Lion (not to be confused with White Lion), which may be considered a one-hit wonder, but you just can't deny the awesomeness of this song:

Maybe not strictly 80's but that's when they were at their peak, mine is Dire Straits. I would love to have seen them play back in the day. Their songs remind me of summer cos I always used to bust out their albums when lazing around the garden with my sister.

Ok so was the teacher in the videos Dee Snider without the wig? I never figured this one out. They looked identical.
I Wanna Rock may be not only the greatest song ever, but the best video ever. In 5th grade while the class was completely quiet, I would scream out in that high pitch singing voice, "I Wanna Rock!" Some of my fellow class mates would of course scream "Rock!" No wonder I got kicked out of class almost everyday that year.

That's funny Danny that you heard that rumour growing up too that Dee Snider was the teacher. After 20 years, I finally got an answer. Thanks buddy!

Oingo was cool @ Irvine Meadows every year, there was this funny thing I remember, A Guy dressed up like the pope riding in a makeshift popemobile... Great show, good times.
Danny is the Man!
