Ozzy replaces Zakk but doesn't tell him

Sounds like Sharon's handywork.

http://www.metalinjection.net/latest...rne-zakk-wylde

Nothing lasts forever in this music biz, and the 20 year bromance that was Ozzy and Zakk Wylde seems to (thankfully) be over:
From a recent interview with Classic Rock Mag:
“Well, I’m getting a new guitar player as we speak,” said Ozzy, “and everyone has been saying to me for a long time, ‘Get Johnny 5!’ And I tried him at one time and I didn’t really give him a chance. We’ll see, I don’t know. I haven’t fallen out with Zakk, but Zakk’s got his own band, and I felt like my stuff was beginning to sound like Black Label Society. I just felt like I wanted a change, y’know?
“I’ve got a guy from Greece coming in – not the musical, the country of Greece – but I’m not going to say too much about it, cos I don’t know myself at this point. I’ve got a new album, I’m working on it as we speak. I’ve got a studio at my house and I’ve got a guy called Kevin Churko, the guy that did the last album [Churko also worked on Ozzy’s Under Cover album, produced Cheap Trick’s highly rated 2006 album Rockford, and has credits on releases by Britney Spears, Celine Dion and Shania Twain] – he’s great to work with.
This is definitely a good thing! Ozzy's records sound like a shell of what they used to be. Granted the man can barely speak let alone sing anymore, but he is a legend nonetheless and change can be a good thing. But really, if he's still working with a glorified pop producer how much change will we really see? I predict this will just be an extremely accessible rock record that adults who have no interest in heavy metal could get into. Either way, I'm definitely curious to hear what the Ozzman comes up with.
UPDATE: Looks like Ozzy didn't bother telling Zakk first. Wylde just updated his Twitter account with the following two tweets:
I haven't heard anything about this. Until I talk to the Boss I don't know. I love Ozzy.
I'm doing Blizzcon with him in August and supposed to finish up the cd in September….this is news to me
What are the chances that Zakk was so drunk when Ozzy told him that he can't remember? Or, that Ozzy just decided to replace Zakk during the interview he was giving? Either way, seems like there is some trouble there. We will continue following this story as it progresses.

More like ... ozzy tix sales are in the toilet, last cd was a flop and thus mtv completely ignored him, people were leaving by the droves during ozzfest, sabbath guys hate his and sharon's guts after he sued them, and promoters want nothing to do with him -- unless he comes up with something new for a marketing angle.

Enter new guitarist Personally I can't stand Sharon, I mean the guy she pimps out for her on stage.

Yeah, it sucks that Zakk is no longer gonna perform for Ozzy, but this means he'll concentrate more on Black Label Society.

I stopped being a fan of Sharon, I mean Ozzy, after they pelted IRON MAIDEN with eggs during ozzfest and talked trash about them on stage while everyone booed them.

Glad Sharon is on an irrelevant american idol ripoff and ozzy is playing to empty arenas. Karma.

You are right about Karma.

If anyone was offended by my previous statement, I apologize. I do not ever wish wish anyone harm, not even Ozzy and Sharon.

Anyone who knows me will attest to that.

Karma.
