Take a close look at the bottom of the v. Looks like you can stab someone with it right? So it's sharp. Logically, a non sharp v must be a u.

I was thinking of sharp and non sharp as in dutch, so V (nonsharp) or F (sharp). But appearently you're all talking in scaninavian terms
