Figured I'd throw this out there since we've had no luck finding a singer for 2+ years.

Traditional doom band a fellow forum member and myself have been working on. I play drums, still looking for a clean singer.

Cathis Ord. The band have been likened to Opeth, Dan Swano, Agalloch, early Katatonia and a few other varied genres. Progressive Dark Metal probably best describes it. The debut album 'The Far Shore' is available for preorder now.

Press Reviews for the '08 Demo:

" ...Both of the eleven-minute songs here absolutely rule, written like papal bulls, performed like nuclear fission [...] There’s really not much more to say other than to proffer that it’s a goddamn privilege to hear and review a project like this so early on..."
Matthew Kirshner - Tartarean Desire

"'... more than a few Opeth fans have been raving about British 'dark prog' newcomers Cathis Ord [...] this two-track, 22-minute ditty will leave plenty to think about. "
Terrorizer magazine

"'...Cathis Ord's demo sounds excellent [...] you can't help but admire James' achievement'"
Sam Inglis - Sound on Sound magazine

"'...This two track demo by solo project Cathis Ord is something a bit special'"
Will Pinfold - Zero Tolerence magazine

If you are interested in norwegian metal with focus on atmosphere, check out Achenar. (www.myspace.com/achenar)

We are inspired by Ulver, Katatonia, Borknagar and Drudkh when it comes to the metal influences.

There's a facebook page too: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Achenar/185306194847969

My newest band Monads just finished recording the first demo.
It's some kind of melancholic doom metal with some post-rock elements.
We uploaded 2 tracks: http://www.facebook.com/monadsofdoom?v=app_178091127385

Wow, so nice to hear that. Thank you.
I see you're looking to form a band. If I'd be living anywhere near you I'd seriously consider it!
Very impressed by your skills as portrayed by your youtube channel

Thank you so much dude that is very flattering to hear you say that. Things are getting ... SERIOUSLY ... ugly in the USA right now.. Everyone seems so disconnected from everything, we're in crazy debt, and theres no more old money to float the old people anymore. Im at the point where I've realized guitar is what I want to do with my life, but that's scary. I don't know what to do, where to go or what job to get. I think I want to teach/work at a music store. I don't need a lot of money to live, but I need some, and there are (seemingly) no jobs here..

Yeah, what you're describing sounds familiar. Life is a constant struggle. Hang in there and do whatever you have to
