I reserved Live Consternation at Amazon and already got it today. At this moment I'm watching the DVD ... Awesome! I could get my ass kicked for not being at Summer Breeze last year!

Hmm, a bit useless review in my opinion.
If you know how katatonia perform this review doesn't tell anything.

Also I don't agree with the writer about it being bad that Jonas "hides" behind his hair and mic...

So I don't think people who can't understand the review aren't really missing anything

a curious thing i found about Live Consternation is the SET list... there are a lot of songs there are placed exactly as they're on the original cd they belong.. like that:

1. LEADERS ( #1 at TGCD)
2. WEALTH
3. SOIL’S SONG ( #3 at TGCD )
4. HAD TO (LEAVE) (#4 at TD )
5. COLD WAYS ( #5 at DO )
6. RIGHT INTO THE BLISS ( #6 at TD )
7. GHOST OF THE SUN
8. CRIMINALS
9. DELIBERATION
10. JULY
11. EVIDENCE ( #11 at VE )

curious : )

The album leaked(only sound files) and i guarantee you guys that the performance is amazing. I lol'd hard the first time i heard Wealth because Jonas says something like: ''you sucka!!'' after the last verses, it is awesome.

Could anyone translate the review plz

edit: lul here's the best translation that i was able to find, seems like a positive review overall:

Two years after already in „the Black sessions “- box a liveDVD was contained, supplies later those dark Sweden now with „live Consternation “a CD DVD package (TRACK cunning identically) with the appearance of the last year buzzer Breeze open air. Under the eleven Songs pieces of the masterpiece are „Viva Emptiness “and three Songs of the current album „The Great Cold Distance “, the remainder are multicolored mixed equal four. The appearance straight takes times knappe an hour, but is enough, in order to leave a very good impression. The volume members move very little (above all singer Jonas Renkse could go times somewhat to more from itself), but but are rather stimmig the dark Lightshow, and above all the madly merged, genuine Livefeeling offering sound that volume make mood powerful, whereas the rather hectic cut nervt rather. No two seconds often remain, in order to look times someone on the fingers, but that is meanwhile usual with most music DVDs so… Also the slow motion sequences are rather disturbing as the atmosphere beneficial. Anyway, which tune musical conversion, because the two guitarists differently Nyström, which are responsible for the good Backing Vocals also, and Fredrik Norman settle their job outstanding, and the rhythm section knows to convince likewise. Over everything thront the singular voice of Renkse, which arises to sovereign to the majority much, even if I found it personally better, if it would not hide itself the whole time behind its long hair and the micro stand. All in all acts with „live Consternation “around a successful snapshot that volume after the publication of „The Great Cold Distance “, which goes for fans in any case into order and is suitable in the best way also for Katatonia specialists from beyond. That on the DVD however no extras are to be found is however in the modern DVD age nearly already an insolence, even if I am not white God Bonusmaterial Fetischist…

Why oh why can't there be a switch to filter off the cheesy effects from the dvd It looks as if you were watching a video back from the 80's or something for fucks sake. The band played nicely and the mixing was great though so it isn't totally ruined. But the b/w stuff just doesn't give justice to the band imo.

main problem is that peaceville does not have July anymore...... whathefuck? for that.

and... snapper site is still bugged ( more than a year i guess ) it simply does not take orders from some locations.... well... i'll mail them and see how it goes...

the saving on combined purchase that i was to get on amazon.com wasn't that great... so i might be gettin' live consternation from snapper and will order july on amazon alone.. or some ebay.

Once upon a time there was a little CD, dreaming it could become more than a blank, lifeless, unimportant scrap of foil and plastic used by the back-office printing factory secretary to fix her hair. It had been dreaming of a place, of a girl, of love and liberty. It prayed for the possibility, for the day to come when it could spin gleefully in its player while the dramas of life played out before it. Then, it got its wish. It was thrown into a batch of a mere 1000 to be imprinted forever with the Live Consternation footage. It was crowned with a pretty red label and wrapped snugly in its ceremonial cellophane wrapper, and then packed tightly into a box. Darkness and quiet followed. For several days nothing was happening and the little CD became frightened. Its fear was shortlived however, when its cell was flooded with light from above, and a giant hand reached down and plucked it up. It was flipped around, then massaged with the tip of a pen, then again, and again. It was too much for Little CD to take, and it undramatically passed out.
Much later, it awoke to the sounds of loud shouting and the smell of fish. An enormous man with a long flowing beard was peering at it through a small tear in its Protective Travel Suit with one eye squeezed shut as he scratched his ear just below what appeared to be a plastic helmet sporting two horns and a 'Made in China' emblem. Beyond his right shoulder several other similar men were throwing parcels and bags onto the backs of a creature the Little CD had never fathomed existed. It looked like a naked fat donkey with a whale's tail and fins. Sitting upon its back was a gnome dressed in a blue and white uniform with a golden badge pinned proudly on his shoulder boasting the letters "USPS". Just as the Little CD was about to get a closer look, the giant in the horned helmet made a hacking noise, blew his nose into his hand and flung Little CD into the hands of the gnome before wiping his fingers on his sleeve.
The donkey-whale bleated in anticipation as the gnome tried several times to kick it into gear. With a squeal he slapped the Little CD against the donkey's rear end, urging it into a slow chug across the lazily churning waters of the North Atlantic. For days the Little CD dreamed of the fate that would meet it when it finally arrived. It dreamed of the freedom to be itself, to show the world what it was made of, to spread the word of Katatonia to the lost and bereft.

Little CD has not been heard from in 8 days and 16 hours. Will it make its way to the New World or has the donkey-whale hit an iceberg? Will the gnome survive the run from Philadelphia to Minneapolis? Will Little CD accept a prompt return to the Motherland in June?

Find out when Eternity finally receives her copy of Live Consternation sometime before 2008!

Well, I recieved mine today ... ... and it's ... unbelievably good!!!
Especially the CD. Never experienced to be enjoying a live CD that much (or at all) like this one ... it sounds just awesome!
And it definitely captures all the power/energy, the feeling and the atmosphere of the show... so does the DVD. It was an amazing (supernice, bombastic, shall I go on?) show anyway, but this shows up some details one might have missed... for example I didn't even remember that the lighting was thaaat good. Fascinating! Also I didn't pay lots of attention to Blakkheim's backings that night... but watching this, he sang quite a lot ... and really good...
It all fits together perfectly... and I also don't think that the cutting is too fast... that was annoying on the Krakow DVD ... but on here it's alright for my taste.

Brings back nice memories ... and it's also very worth a listen/watch for anyone who wasn't there... <3

Add: Oh and Vinny & me just found out that we are pro "Jonas'-face-hidden-behind-his-hair"... makes it more authentic! ... just my two cents on all this bitching ... v.v

Nooooh! I got it at 9am ... so first I gave the July single some spins ... then the Live Consternation CD ... and the DVD had it's attention after 1pm ... 4 hours of resistance... yay me.

I hate the recordstores in my town. You usually have to add like 3 days up to a week to the releasedate. I'll possibly get it tomorrow, though. Not TOO bad...

Yeah.... I'm spoiled somewhat compared to a lot of other people. But everybody complains no matter how well they're off.
