1.It be doom
2.every song be over 6 minutes

It makes me feel like less of an impatient child when i read this thread from time to time. Sort of nice to see theres others as hungry for the new Kata album as i am. At least i think we can rest quite assured that this is the year of the new album.

I just wish they'd haul their asses over here to the states and for a decent length tour. My ultimate show would be Katatonia and Opeth, with Mike coming out to sing some the old stuff with them. That'd be awesome. Maybe some surprise Bloodbath and October Tide covers.

I recall there being a disagreement between band members about the direction of music ... could we at least have an update on this, or did I miss something? Have they gotten past this issue?

I do not think that there was a disagreement on anything. They were going into the studio sometime last year, but they were not satisfied with what they had so far.

I sincerely hope not lol. I guess I am pretty patient considering my favourite band just did their first interview ever in 20 years of existing (Devil Doll) and haven't released or said they will release anything since 1996.

I like(d) TGCD very much but since about a half year or so I don't feel any need to listen to it anymore. I think I 'overplayed' this album big time and got really tired of it. ANY news about the progress of the new album would be appreciated.
