I would like the album be like something evidence and omerta stuff, the vocals on both of the songs are so warm and still depressive gets me chills every time. On the otherhand I wouldn't never want them to do new DoDS or BMD because I think they are about the best that kind of music that there is. One thing I'm missing on The Great Cold Distance is a slow song, or even mid tempo almost all the song have their "heavy metal touch" on them, not saying its bad but something like Omerta or A Darkness Coming, or unfurl etc..
Also I dont want to hear any harsh vocals in it, because Jonas' clean singing is just so godlike. ps. I also like the Jonas' part on Hope really much :P |

![]() Does this topic of "will there be growls?" Come up every time there is a new album in the works?

JTP is the modern doom masterpiece. More songs like that.

Maybe I'll ask me the magic question again; is it anything for me?

OI! The viola comment made me think.
That wóuld be cool. Some more orchestral-like songs featuring Cello and Viola/Violin for example Those instruments are the best for emotional masterpieces |

ah, looks like ive been owned by the forum then...
Sorry to offend all the 'true' Katatonia heads out there, I hang my head in shame. Just stating my opinion as a listener of all 3 great bands... The next album will be great whatever they do with it, growls or not. Katatonia is always a band who deliver.

I think it would be cool if some of the songs had a more shoegazey/spacey feel to them. Kinda like the ambient bits in Mithras songs, I can imagine with a load of reverb/delay on them Jonas clean vocals could work brilliantly with music like that.
