MDB Update 'For Lies I Sire'

U.K. godfathers of doom MY DYING BRIDE will release their new album, "For Lies I Sire", on March 23 via Peaceville Records. The follow-up to 2006's "A Line of Deathless Kings" was recorded with longtime producer Mags.

In a recent interview with Blissfulviolet of Beyond The Dark Horizon, MY DYING BRIDE vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe stated about the band's upcoming ninth studio album, "Naturally, we think it's our best work to date and has a sort of 'new-meets-old' sound; the violins giving a nod to our past and the new riffs and vocals showing the way forward. It is quite possibly the most depressing thing we've created to date, and all the more wonderful for it.

Asked how he feels the new CD differs from MY DYING BRIDE's last studio album, "A Line of Deathless Kings", Aaron replied, "Would you believe it, it's even darker? I've pushed the vocals further, finding more melodies, as have the guitars, and, of course, the violin has added a deep range of feeling. It's quite a fresh, melodic sound despite being utterly despondent.

Yeah it looks a little Napalm Records-ish. I don't hate it or anything, but I would have preferred Aaron had done the cover.

I know he did this one at least. I agree, Aaron does the best album covers. Of course..they're always trying to help other artists, so maybe that's what they're trying to this time?
I sort of like the new album cover I think. It's ok. I disliked the artwork on Songs of Darkness, words of light..even if it's one of my fav albums from MDB.

The violin thing makes me excited.Hope they can bring something closer to the quality of Turn Loose The Swans.
I think cover is not bad at all,it is better than the last one.

no way. TDE has an awful cover! SODWOL cover-art is also a crappy one. this new one is their best since LGOTS

I agree with ominousinane..TDH has one of their best covers. SODWOL is medium to boring. The new is a bit medium pluss something. LGOTS has very beautiful cover art...but also very little original..so that one has THAT problem..according to me.

The cover art is great, but i expect no new music from MDB =((((((((( I mean, it will be "good old doom metal" with nothing new. I was fan of "Turn loose" and "The Angel", when they released "34,788". That was reaaly fresh music, it kicked ass, it has forced my mind and my soul to THINK, to make a work just to understand!!! Sad, after that album they returned to "good old" doom-death. And i am still waiting for another kick-ass....

If their narrow-minded fans had not befouled that album,they could have gone different territories like Paradise Lost did.It was an interesting album.Yet it remains as the only experimental work MDB ever done.

My only expectation is something close to Turn Loose The Swans.That album is completely unique.
