PBS-FM Metal Benefit Gig
Saturday 26th of April, 2008

Melbourne's 106.7 PBS-FM and SCREAMING SYMPHONY present a night of
Progressive and Power Metal at the third (not so annual) heavy metal benefit
gig: SCREAMING SYMPHONY LIVE FROM THE CORNER HOTEL (VIC) on SATURDAY 26TH of
APRIL. With the abundance of international tours recently, here's YOUR
chance to support Australian heavy metal bands with all profits on the night
helping to keep PBS-FM on-air.

Over the ANZAC DAY long-weekend, SCREAMING SYMPHONY brings NSW Metal
favourite LORD (ex-Dungeon) for their first Melbourne show since the release
of their epic new album ASCENDENCE. It's been just under a year since their
last Melbourne performance and for those inexperienced in the allure of
heavy metal - fast songs with big catchy choruses and an abundance of guitar
shred - LORD will do their best to convert you!

Long-time PBS-FM members CRIMSONFIRE join the fray with their majestic,
fantasy-laced metal that sits heavily between Iron Maiden and Dream Theater.
With a new album shredding its way to punters later in 2008, CRIMSONFIRE
bring their enigmatic entertainment direct to the stage.

On the lookout for new acts? The future of heavy metal in Melbourne looks
bright (or should that be dark?) with the youngest group to perform:
VAMPORA. Musically this is like a dragon's skull being crushed by a battle
axe which roughly translates to Dragonforce being met by Rhapsody Of Fire
and Symphony X in a dark alley. Warriors be warned!

The second new act to emerge is the Female-Fronted Progressive Escapades of
DIVINE ASCENSION. Epic, technical songs and a dynamic vocalist combine to
form an orchestral and progressive masterpiece reminiscent of Dream Theater,
Within Temptation and To-Mera.

Giveaways and merchandise will be available and MORE special guests are to
be announced soon.
