Final Dungeon album news

Well, as we all know by now, Dungeon is no more.

(You didn't hear?! You need to have a read of THIS!)

However, Dungeon will be releasing one final album to close the story properly and to say thank you to all of the people who have supported the band over its 16 year history.

The album's title is "The Final Chapter" and recording will begin near the end of February.

Some song titles include "Pariah", "Life Is A Lie", "Better Man", "Curse Of The Pharaohs" and "The Final Chapter" and there'll be an abundance of cool bonus tracks too on selected releases.

When will it be released? That's up to the labels, but I'm guessing it'll be somewhere around the middle of the year.

Hopefully this album will be bundled with a limited edition DVD as well, time-permitting. I'll keep you posted about that as time goes on.

So what's it sound like?

Imagine all of the Dungeon albums plus the first LORD solo album rolled into one. All of the things you liked about those albums have been combined into a large melting pot and what we ended up with was a bunch of killer tracks which are unmistakably classic Dungeon. And if you like this stuff, get ready for the next LORD album of which the writing is also well underway - this is following on very much in the same vein as "The Final Chapter".

Who will be on this album? Basically, myself and Tim with some very special guests.

More info will be revealed as we go on as well as recording reports, so make sure you check back here often.

Just as an update, I can say that things are going along great.

Before a band hits the studio, they need to make sure they have everything worked out first. This is all pre-production.

So as part of that, we now have vocals down on demos for half of the songs, and they're sounding pretty good. We should be back in the studio sometime in the next week or so to finish the job.

Due to us being really busy actually getting this album finished while LORD has been doing some heavy touring, this thread has kind of slipped down with no update for a while.

However, some updates along with short video and audio snippets of the recording process have been posted on the main forum in this thread:

We are pleased to announce that Dungeon, the band that preceded LORD, has signed an exclusive Japanese territory deal with Soundholic records (home to bands such as Evergrey, Nocturnal Rites, Soilwork and many more) for "The Final Chapter".

"The Final Chapter" was the final Dungeon album, which was released in Australia in late 2006, featuring performances by remaining Dungeon members Lord Tim and Tim Yatras who went on to form LORD.

The album will be released on July 25, and will be available all over Japan.
