If you read carefully you'll see it's on Jan 31st not Dec 31st so you can safely come see MURDERWORLD and save GORGOFEST for another day.

Isn't that on the same night as Chaos ACT in Belco? Also, what is the deal with putting where the bands are from on flyers and so forth? Does anyone actually care that Temtris are from Norwa? Does it make more people turn up if they think they're going to see a band from the Shoalhaven?

I asked this before and never got an answer, so I'll ask it again: Why is "metal" always capitalised? Is there some kind of unwritten rule that genre names have to be written as proper nouns in the metal world? I seek enlightenment on this.

See, I like a few of the bands on that fest, and the others aren't too bad, really (well, most of them), but outrageous statements like that is really what makes people hate a lot of those bands.

I suppose it makes it seem like more of an 'event' when there is a heap of interstate bands, rather than your usual gig. I know if I see a flyer for a gig in Melbourne which has an/some interstate bands, I usually check them out because it's not too often Aussie bands travel.

Yeah but what Brian means is that the gig is in Sydney, NSW, and it's advertising where each band is from, even the ones from the same state, let alone the same bloody city! Haha!

I can totally understand putting it on the flyer when the band's from a different state, but when they're coming from an hour or two's drive away, I can't see that bringing in extra punters.

Yeah I know what you mean, so do I. Its the whole thing from the get-go that is just so facepalm. Its the promotion, its (some of) the bands on the bill, its the people involved, etc. Its a shame that good bands actively choose to damage their reps just by being associated with bad publicity like this.
