You gotta love Pegazus' limited edition LPs restricted to 2000 copies. What a joke!

That is pretty funny. Have they even sold that many copies of their last few albums?

Popped my head in to get flamed for posting a non-metal gig... there'll still be plenty of
though![]() Drumcorps LIVE @ Hermanns Bar 090109 Aaron Spectre's Drumcorps project was borne out of him adding live guitars to his already frantic jungle/breakcore performances, bringing the energy and aesthetic of hardcore punk to his unique fusion of genres. This has grown in to its own entity, with an album, remixes and constant tours capturing audiences worldwide. Drumcorps’ debut album 'Grist' is a unique journey through music, tension built through complex breakbeat programming and guitar riffage is released via moody passages of noise. It won an award of distinction at the Ars Electronic Festival in Austria, putting him alongside previous competition winners Aphex Twin, SunnO))) and Chris Cunningham. A true broken beats genius, Aaron melds genres to create an in your face experience where the heavy thrash of metal, jungle, breakcore and hardcore punk meets electronic soundscapes of ambience. ![]() As it was borne of live shows, Drumcorps is made to be performed. Notorious for the intensity of his sets, which are truly adrenaline marathons, no energy is spared in bringing the music to the audience. Utilising multiple controllers and a guitar on stage, the show is a frantic display of hands-on sound manipulation. Drumcorps has toured the world over, recently performing alongside the likes of Autechre, Squarepusher, Genghis Tron, Luke Vibert and Venetian Snares. Australia’s first chance to experience Drumcorps live will be on the 9th of January 2009, at Hermanns Bar USYD ![]() Drumcorps - Truth and Justice (podcast) for electronicexplorations.org Drumcorps - Mix for UK radio Ch4 DRUMCORPS (Manalive / AdNoiseam /Cock Rock Disco / Kriss Records) Paul Blackout (Hardline Recordings) Centaspike (Barcode) b.i.n.t (GPFS) Highly Dubious Mad Cow Sakura $20 on the door http://www.noiseto11.com/ |

Yeah man, this gig will be great even if for curiosities sake - I love my metal but throw technology in the mix and you get some crazy takes on music performance. Also in the future we're looking to do live bands vs. live electronic - DJs are all well and good but throw some proper live performances on stage with all sorts of musical approaches and the results will be awe inspiring. Just have to find a venue stupid enough to let us run rampage, don't we all suffer that problem right now...
Final spam from me: Alright, the gig's on tomorrow night and Aaron's in town preparing himself to put on a show to remember! Here's the set times: 9-11 Fun Bus crew (Highly Dubious, Mad Cow, Sakura) 11-12 Centaspike 12-1 Drumcorps 1-2 b.i.nt 2-3 Paul Blackout Only $20 on the door, we're setting a high benchmark for 2009 with the heaviest dnb/breakcore/hardcore you'll hear for a while. Come join us on the night and pay attention to http://www.noiseto11.com/ or http://www.thefunb.us for more exciting gigs over the coming months. Also, thanks to Micko at http://www.thematicsradio.com/ the "Fun Bus" crew got drunk and took over the radio for a few hours last Saturday night. Some great music was played, with a bit of silliness in between. Here's the playlist, with a couple of hours of music for you to download too: THEMATICS - FUNBUS SPECIAL ![]() PLAYLIST - 3rd January 2009 Doormouse - Keishaka Kore Doormouse - Wives and Beers Aaron Spectre - Mordor HIGHLY DUBIOUS : DJ MIX Sickboy - Blister Theme Desert Storm Breakcore Squad - Friendly Fire Le Jad - A Princess on my Horse Enduser - Precognition Venetian Snares - Winnipeg is a Dogshit Dildo Drop the Lime - Torentella Mega MAD COW : DJ MIX Skull Snaps - I'm your Pimp Breakestra - Sexy Popcorn Pot Quantic - Bomb ina Trumpet Factory Quantic - Politik Society Quantic - Blow your Horn Quantic - Ticket to Nowhere Quantic - Soul Orchestra Borat Sample Mr Scruff - ? The result is Altered Beast, 3 tracks of splintered metal/breakcore mania... available on a limited edition wicked 10" or for free download here. If nothing else, have a look at that vinyl! Just the artwork and printing itself makes this a special release. Hope to see you down there, it'll be a gig to remember - not very often Australia gets a chance to see music like this from artists of such pedigree. |

Welkin Entertainment Presents
A TRIPLE CD LAUNCH! EYEFEAR IN MALICE’S WAKE BLACK ORCHID (SA) with EYE OF THE ENEMY and NOTHING Date: Saturday, February 7 Venue: The Esplanade Hotel, St.Kilda Doors: 8pm Entry: $15 Launching their latest album ‘The Unseen’, Melbourne’s own progressive/melodic metal titans, EYEFEAR, have once again raised the bar. A collection of fantastic, moving and powerful songs that showcase the ever impressive Danny Cecati on vocals and feature a great sense of melody, ‘The Unseen’ is a must have album for any fan of progressive, melodic and/or power metal. Always outstanding live, Eyefear will be headlining this huge event featuring 5 great bands, three of which are launching new releases! Spanning years in the making, IN MALICE’S WAKE are launching their debut album, ‘Eternal Nightfall.’ Featuring ten tracks of relentless, destructive thrash, complete with a twin guitar attack, fearsome vocal work, memorable songwriting and an instantly recognisable sound. Formed in early 2007 from the ashes of Adelaide gothic metal band Chalice, the members of BLACK ORCHID (SA) present their music to the world stage through the release of their debut recording ‘Inertia’. Incorporating the passion of Nightwish, the drama of Opeth and the atmospherics of Pink Floyd, Black Orchid’s ‘Inertia’ combines all the right elements for a band on the verge of great things. Joining our three CD launch bands on the night will be Eye of the Enemy (opening the evening) and Nothing (playing the late show). ![]() http://www.myspace.com/welkinentertainment http://www.myspace.com/eyefear http://www.myspace.com/inmaliceswake http://www.myspace.com/blackorchidsong http://www.myspace.com/eyeoftheenemy http://www.myspace.com/nothingthrash Facebook event page: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=44973540858 Last.fm event page: http://www.last.fm/event/888121
