It'd just be cool to have a game that is based on real historic periods, with gods and figures and myths from all the historic nations etc.

Well God Of War is about the Greek gods. It's a single player game, though. You may be interested in it. For the MMOs this is about as close as it gets, yet very far off the mark but I have heard it is a good game.

There were drugs in Dues Ex (the king of the interactive FPS IMO).. you could drink beer, wine or spirits and shoot up 'vials'.

I hear ya Zen - we grabbed The Who pack as well. Freaking awesome!!

Was rather ironic - we played it late Wednesday night, mainly to play Baba O'Reilly. Played that, went to bed to unwind by watching an episode of House...

...and Baba O'Reilly featured in it :P

Don't forget Bioshock, the main character shots drugs into his arm, smokes and drinks exceeding amounts of alcohol to improve skills.

That is kickass! I love the comment about tormenting the pet. This sounds so fun. But not as fun as screwing around IRL.
