I stayed at a backpackers' in Adelaide years ago. Very nice, cheap and clean and about one second from the middle of town. Although, it's Adelaide. Everything's one second from the middle of town.

Has anybody flew with Tiger, they now fly out of Canberra to Adelaide for about $70 each way , but i have heard some crap reports about them delaying flights for several hours until the plane is full ....Has, anybody got any stories for me ... cheers

I have flown Tiger. The flight was fine however they changed the flight on me with no notice and when you ring their support number, you get put on hold until your call times out and you never get to speak to anyone. Because they operate out of Singapore it is almost impossible to contact them. They also charge you a $10 "convenience fee". WTF is convenient about a Fucking fee.

All that aside, I would fly Tiger again if there was the possibility of going to the coolest metalfest in Australia. So you should definately come along and rockout, even if you do have to deal with those fucktards at Tiger.

Don't fly Tiger. Be warned.

I haven't flown myself, but have heard bad stories.

AND- for bands NEVER fly Tiger as you can only take a max of 7kg so there's no way you'd be able to take any gear (even a guitar) with you, so obviously that'd no good.

Essentially Tiger is really cheap because they cut costs on all services and quality of service in general. If you get something ultra cheap though and have a few hours up your sleeve, guess it could be worth the savings if you're just going as a fan without gear though.

Bit of misinformation about Tiger here.

They have an Australian operation and a Singaporean operation.

They have an Australian call centre.

Their base fares include 7kgs of hand luggage only, just like Virgin and Jetstar.

15kgs of checked luggage is $10 extra on Tiger, compared with 23kgs for $8 extra on Virgin if prepaid, and 20kgs for $10 extra on Jetstar.

Personally I wouldn't fly with Tiger, but it always pays to shop around and know the facts

BTBG have flown Tiger and they were the cheapest option to Perth. Would recommend if you plan abit and weigh your gear and don't go over your weight limit. They now fly out of Sydney to Melbourne and Adelaide.

Ah yeah, I am Death is such a piratey song, so much more then that Tyranno Del mar thing, no idea what thats about, crazy assed song...
Im not too sure wether or not to goto ATG5. Lord is the only band I really wanna see. Although apparently the rest of the line up is good, last years ATG was just 12 hours of having my ears raped by fowlers bad acoustics, but we shall see, depends how charitable my wallet is feeling.

For Heaven's sake, Ben, I was of the assumption that OF COURSE you will be there. Get some $2 bloody ear plugs, and get down there already, and make sure you bring Anna, too. It's one of the few shows she can come to, ffs!

NEVER fly Tiger btw. Everyone I know who has dealt with them has had all kinds of problems, particularly the fact that they change flights without decent notification, and cannot be contacted - and people who have turned up for their pre-booked flights to simply be told "we don't have a plane here"...... wtf?!! And when we went to my sister's wedding in NSW, very good friends of ours from Vic almost didn't make it (I think they got there just as the bride was arriving!) thanks to Tiger, despite having left the bloody day before.

I've never had problems with Virgin (use them all the time, they are quite reliable) or Qantas (though I avoid them, if I can, on principle, but that's another story not required here). I've not tried Jetstar, but know people who have problems with them also, although not as bad as Tiger.

So Adelaidians, are we still up for Pancake Kitchen breakfast with beers? I need to work out my train timetable - definitely leaving the car at home for this one! Party goes in this order:

i haven't used tiger but i am always keen for a bargain
imo price > being treated nicely
i'd rather someone told me to sit down, shut the fuck up and stare at nothing for an hour than some bimbo bother me constantly on a virginblue flight
as for flights being rescheduled - virginblue and jetstar have been doing this non-stop for the last year (thanks to the 'recession') so no difference there
