Forming a dark horizon to the musical landscape, MELTGSNOW (pronounced Melting Snow) was formed in 1999, instantly standing out in the Asian Goth-Metal scene with their dark, progressive and intense approach to metal. Their evolution as a band has created a completely unique sound, characterized by a mix of melody with aggressive dark rhythm and intense vocals.

Their debut album, “Insanity”, was released on Sonic Wave Records in 2003 to rave reviews, followed with a successful tour in the United States. Known for their live intensity and wild antics on stage, Meltgsnow has garnered a faithful following in Thailand and Singapore with positive feedback from fans and press alike.

In late 2008 the band returned to the studio to record their highly anticipated new album, “Black Penance ”. Exploring a dark musical landscape, their first single from that album “Empty Sky”, received national radio airplay and excellent reviews from fans and local media. Jens Borgen (Opeth, Paradise Lost and Katatonia) from Fascination Street Studio was also brought in to master the album, to give it a more aggressive and polished sound. “Black Penance” was recently picked up by Pulverised Records as one of their first Goth Rock/Metal signings, and was released in September, 2010.

Don’t miss MELTGSNOW on their first ever Australian tour playing in Sydney & Melbourne from Oct 30-Nov 1!

Frontier Touring, MetalObsession.net, Channel V and Drum Media presents:

Disturbed – Music As A Weapon tour 2011. With special guests, Trivium and As I Lay Dying

Highly acclaimed heavy metal icons Disturbed will be returning for their massive ‘Music As A Weapon 2011’ tour and are ready to annihilate arena stages in Australia and New Zealand this April, much to the satisfaction of their legions of fans.

Arguably one of the most successful heavy metal bands around today, Disturbed have sold over 11 million albums globally and are one of only three bands in music history to have four consecutive releases debut at #1 on the US Billboard Top 200 album chart.

Since the band’s formation fifteen years ago, Disturbed have had three Platinum albums in Australia and a strong fourth contender in their latest offering Asylum which debuted at #2 on the ARIA Album Chart and #1 on New Zealand’s RIANZ Album Chart upon its release in August.

Asylum is the fifth studio album by the Grammy Award nominated band (2009) and the first single ‘Another Way To Die’ has continued to impress listeners since its immediate injection into the top spot on the iTunes Rock Chart once available. Featuring lashing guitars, bone-shattering riffs and hypnotic hooks Asylum is classic Disturbed at their finest:

“The Chicago quartet has a defined sound that’s been consistently satisfying for the past decade… There are enough brains and brawn to make this an “Asylum” any head-banger would be crazy to avoid” – Billboard

“Global warming! Nazis! Werewolves! Disturbed pack their fifth disc Asylum with so much scary stuff it should come with a night-light. The Chicago metal warriors give Metallica pummel a modern-rock sheen…”– Entertainment Weekly

“…Where many of their peers settle for a few blocky chords and let the distortion pedal do the rest, Disturbed don’t shy away from a few fevered fret-board workouts. As history has proven, the devil — wherever he lives — loves a good guitar solo.” – Rolling Stone

Disturbed, comprised of front man David Draiman, guitarist Dan Donegan, drummer Mike Wengren and bassist John Moyer, have garnered a devoted following over their extensive, wildly successful career due to their vicious live performances and repertoire of standout compositions.

To add to the mayhem, axe wielding metal band Trivium will join Disturbed at all shows on tour as special guests. Trivium have over 800 live shows to their name to date and are ready to show off their prowess again following their last visit in support of 2008’s epic release Shogun.

“The Florida band were on riotous form throughout the gig, which was punctuated by the co-lead guitarist Corey Beaulieu spinning his long hair around and frontman Matt Heafy continuously exclaiming “oh my God!” at how hectic the crowd were.” – NME

Trivium is a powerhouse of metal and their live performances burst with a raw brutality that will certainly leave audiences quaking in their wake.

Metalcore ensemble As I Lay Dying are also performing on the ‘Music As A Weapon 2011’ tour, armed with tracks from their new album The Powerless Rise that has seen them cement their place as one of the most groundbreaking acts in the metal genre:

“Their combination of Slaughter Of The Soul-era At The Gates-style melodic death metal, breakneck thrash and pounding breakdowns has seen them elevated to the forefront of the metalcore scene…” – OneMetal.com

The album, also their fifth, entered the US Billboard chart in the Top 10 albums but it is on the live stage when they are at their most savage.

Opening the tour at all Australian shows, with the exception of Perth, will be Forgiven Rival. The band is rapidly gaining momentum here and overseas, sharing billings with UnderOath, Parkway Drive, Story Of The Year and more. Their highly commended debut album This Is A War has seen them catch the attention of US label Indianola Records, with whom the band are now signed. New Zealand supports will be announced at a later date.

This killer lineup is sure to have fans eagerly rearing their horns in anticipation and clamouring for a piece of the action. Tour information and ticketing details below.

Welkin Entertainment & MetalObsession.net Presents
NEGURA BUNGET (Romania)
Australian Tour

Immortally rising from the spirituality of immortal lands, Romanian folk/black metal band Negură Bunget began their journey through the universe of Black Metal in early 1995. Now after more than 15 years, a number of critically acclaimed albums (their 2006 album ‘Om’ was voted the #2 album of 2006 by Terrorizer magazine), and having performed at many of the biggest metal festivals in the world, the band is finally touring Australia this November!

Their latest album, Vîrstele pămîntului (Ages of the Land/ Earth) is as the title suggests an album about ages, about places of the earth and places of the spirit, about bounds transcending worlds. It’s an album about embracing your destiny, about choosing and consciously assuming a way of life. Negură Bunget is ready to unleash the power of their Black Metal, promoting its musical and spiritual vision and, as always… The Transilvanian Spirituality.

Negură Bunget will be headlining Sonic Forge Festival in Melbourne on November 26 and playing sideshows across the country in Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra & Hobart!

life is noise presents for the first time in Australia...

NEUROSIS (USA)
AUSTRALIAN TOUR
AUGUST 2014

life is noise is proud to announce the first ever Australian tour from heavy rock luminaries NEUROSIS.

Neurosis have become an institution of heavy music. From their beginnings as a hardcore punk band in the mid-80s to their gradual evolution into a transcendent and genre-defying collective, the Oakland, California natives have broken ground at every turn, pioneering a sound that influenced heavyweights like Isis, Mastodon and High on Fire.

For 27 years, the members of Neurosis have demonstrated what metal can be and what it can aspire to: transcendent, cathartic, graceful, innovative. – NPR

Yet nothing else sounds quite like Neurosis. Marked by subtle dynamics, the desolate vocals of Scott Kelly and Steve von Till, and moments of pure catharsis, Neurosis defy imitation. While their Bay Area peers followed predictable routes, Neurosis saw opportunities for experimentation and innovation everywhere they looked, incorporating a slew of non-traditional elements into their hypnotic brand of music, utilising tribal rhythms, synthesizers and strings while pushing every boundary conceivable. The result is a sound that’s as diverse as it is rich, taking cues from sludge, doom and all things heavy, all the while operating outside the boundaries of any one aesthetic.

Neurosis’ ability to harness their maze of strengths into one engrossing composition, every time they pick up a guitar or drumstick, or whatever it maybe, still amazes to this day. – Cvlt Nation

29 years on, Neurosis schedule has slowed: the band rarely tours and gaps between releases grow larger. But what Neurosis may lack in recent activity they make up for with unbridled intensity, both on record and in the flesh. Live, Neurosis are a revelation: a monolithic presence of near-otherworldly proportions, delivering the kind of sonic experience that’s as epic and all-encompassing as you can expect from such a reputable and enigmatic group of artists. Prepare to lose your mind.

Neurosis look – and sound – like the Old Testament brought to life. – Decibel Magazine

Witness Neurosis in the flesh on their first ever Australian tour on the following dates:

August 4 - Brisbane - The Hi Fi w/ Hope Drone
August 5 - Adelaide - HQ w/ Space Bong
August 6 - Perth - Capitol w/ Drowning Horse
August 7 - Melbourne - The Corner Hotel w/ Clagg
August 8 - Melbourne - The Hi Fi w/ Whitehorse
August 9 - Sydney - Manning Bar w/ Adrift for Days

All tickets at lifeisnoise.com, oztix and the venues.
