Cradle of Filth, Melbourne.
Tues 26th. Fairly stoked, since I've been listening to a bunch of their stuff lately and can reconfirm that Dusk and Her Embrace is the best album of all time. |

I was hoping to get in for free for reviewing the gig but no such luck. Not worth 80 bucks to me.
Also Danni got kicked out of Enigma last night for being a dickhead lol.

SOUNDWORKS TOURING presents
ARCH ENEMY/SUFFOCATION/WINDS OF PLAGUE AUSTRALIAN TOUR, NOVEMBER, 2009 ARCH ENEMY return to Australia for a phenomenal headlining tour to demonstrate to metal heads here what they do best…delivering pure sonic force and ripping us apart with their stunning brand of metal! These melodic extreme metal genre-leaders have become a synonym for success, hard work and pure f**king metal! The stunning chart entries of their last two albums “Doomsday Machine” (2005) and “Rise Of The Tyrant” (2007, charted in over a dozen countries!) have allowed the band to celebrate another peak of their already stellar career. Now, ARCH ENEMY proudly showcase their current strength and musical brilliance by releasing a breathtaking live document of their “Rise Of The Tyrant” touring cycle. Witness it first hand, the sheer brilliance of these melodic metal titans! Arch Enemy guitarist/songwriter Michael Amott comments: “We’re totally looking forward returning to Australia, you know we’ve missed the fans and the great weather! Although the tours in ‘06 (w/ Megadeth) and ‘07 (w/ Machine Head) were amazing in many ways, we haven’t played a full headline tour in Australia since our first visit back in 2005. So this is long over due and we are more than ready to attack your shores once again! We can’t wait to give you the full ‘Arch Enemy Heavy Metal Mayhem’ experience! And we already know you - the fans, will bring it…Aussie style! See you all in November!” In direct support will be New York death metal legends SUFFOCATION. Their fusion of technicality, groove and sheer unrelenting brutality has been imitated but never quite duplicated. And now, with the release of SUFFOCATION’s Nuclear Blast debut “Blood Oath”, their legacy of unrelenting and unique heaviness continues for perhaps the genres greatest band! WINDS OF PLAGUE prepare to unleash their wrath across the Australia with their sophomore release. The stunning slab of brutality entitled “Decimate The Weak” does exactly that with its razor sharp riffs and sheer intensity backed with a monsoon of angst and inner demons that is just waiting to be expelled on stage. Yep, Suffocation were (are) fantastic. Arch Enemy were a gateway band for me, but I really cant get into them these days...kinda shits me that Suffocation are supporting them.
I would actually be interested in going to the Adelaide show, Fowlers can be very...intimate! |

haha what a circus. Still, anyone who buys a ticket to see Lame-acide deserves to be disappointed. Worst death metal band ever.

The only time I've ever enjoyed Deicide was when my friend dubbed one of their tracks over a video of my child headbanging at 8 months old. Pure lols.

So keen for this. I'm STILL yet to see Carpathian, despite them touring this country every 5 minutes.

KREATOR – HORDES OF CHAOS
2009 Australian Tour KREATOR the world’s most influential and successful European thrash band in the history of heavy metal!!! In the world of metal, a bands legacy is almost as important as their music. Kreator are definitely a band that has an undeniable legacy and the Teutonic Thrashers are returning to Australia this September to unleash hell for their legions of fans. In January of this year, Kreator released Hordes Of Chaos, a powerhouse record that ticked all the boxes of a trademark Kreator slab. Confronting, intelligent lyrics, razor sharp riffs, a full-frontal drumming assault and the patented rasping vocals of one Mille Petrozza. According to Mille, the new album is a 100% realistic reflection of Kreator’s live qualities: no ProTool fixes or sterile production, just a band sounding as threatening on record as they do on stage, as brutal today as they were over 20 years ago! With over two decades’ history, an unmistakable back catalogue, and a deadly live show that has been perfected over thousands of live shows around the world, KREATOR will once again be slamming their flag of hate smack-bang in the middle of Australian venues in September. Lamb of God, DevilDriver & Shadows Fall touring in December, 2009
Contemporary metal doesn’t get more blistering than Lamb Of God. The Virginia five piece’s mix of groove laden chunky riffs, inhuman screamed vocals and evil lead guitar work make for an explosive and unstoppable force. Their latest album Wrath has seen them elevate to one of the biggest metal bands and they “sound as powerful composing songs as they do cranking out riffs—and the transformation is career-defining.” - AV Club Hitting with the force of an invading apocalyptic army, Lamb Of God are back to inject Australia with a crippling dose of their pure American metal. Coming armed with a barrage of crushing riffs, a pounding backbone rhythm and growls, “it’s safe to say that this one-cell prison of a genre finally has an escaped convict” - Sputnik Music Devildriver’s introduction onto the world metal stage was in the form of their 2003 debut self titled album, a crushing introduction to a new breed of extremity, spearheaded by the distinctive vocal ferocity of front man, Dez Fafara. The band’s subsequent follow ups have taken a quantum leap up the evolutionary metal scale, crafting them into a brutal, melodic, technically complex monster. Metal Hammer sum up Devildriver perfectly… “frantic pace, unrelenting power and a whole shitload of attitude.” This mind blowing triple bill of metal titans could not be complete without Massachusetts finest, Shadows Fall. Combining honest integrity and violent brutality into one frightening package, they continue to push the boundaries with their distinctive mix of bone-splintering aggression and melodic nuance. LAMB OF GOD/DEVILDRIVER - Australian Tour 2009 11 Dec 2009 - The Riverstage, Brisbane (L/AA) 12 Dec 2009 - Luna Park, Sydney (L/AA) 15 Dec 2009 - Festival Hall, Melbourne (Licensed and AA areas) 16 Dec 2009 - The Barton Theatre, Adelaide (L/AA) 18 Dec 2009 - Metro City, Perth (18+) www.myspace.com/lambofgod http://www.myspace.com/devildriver |
