Recently saw this band for the second time in NYC, they were absolutely awesome. Take the better moments of mid/latter day Opeth, add a fair amount of folk, and a dose of epicness, and you have an idea of what they are like. |

I'm sure most here know who Ripping Corpse was, but not that many people give them the credit they deserved. Dreaming With The Dead is simply incredible. Catchy, straight to the point, brutal and technical. This is definitely the best thing Erik Rutan ever did, in my eyes anyway.

Anacrusis!
One of the most overlooked and under-appreciated Thrash bands ever. Suffering Hour, was an especially awesome record. Also, I'm pretty sure the entire records are posted here on their official site (it's ooooooold, but mostly works.) Link.

They're really excellent!
Drifter- Swiss thrash band. Really underrated and pretty technical. Flames- Thrash band from Greece. They released quite a few albums in the 80's/early 90's. Agressive but catchy and melodic. I guess you could compare it to Holy Moses' first two albums, minus the female vocalist. Asgard- Not exactly so sure on the history of the band, but Dark Horizons is an excellent album. A little similar to Running Wild's power/speed/heavy metal stuff. Great guitar work. In The Ancient Days is a great album too, but I don't think it's from the same band.

I haven't seen them in here so i need to recommend Arghoslent. If you can get past the racist lyrics, thier album Incorrigible Bigotry is great. Death metal with tons of great riffs that are melodic, but not in the cheesy gothenburg or powermetal way, and tons of them. really a great album.

I love them.
I see a lot of people really getting into them lately. Pretty cool that people are getting past the lyrics and interviews
