Diablo Swing Orchestra

Has anyone heard the Diablo Swing Orchestra? I stumbled across them last week by accident. My initial reaction was “What the hell is this?” However, I must admit I am now totally hooked after order the CD “Butchers Ballroom” online.
For those of you who have not heard them they are for lack of a better term a Classically Influenced, Heavy Metal, Swing Jazz Band that is fronted by a female Soprano Opera Singer. Try and figure that one out

They may not be the easiest listen the first time around, but damn they grow on you.

What do Y’all Think?

Love this band!
I have only known about them for a little under a year, but they are very unique IMO.
Really looking forward to seeing them at ProgPower this year.

Didn't know they were doing ProgPower. Shame I am not going this year, I would have liked to have checked them out.

interesting stuff, I'm looking forward to their set at PP, I need to hear some more instrumentation though to really appreciate it, the live vid has a lot of vox which do sound good, but that electric Cello, I want to hear more ; )

The album is strong, especially the instrumentation. Like I said earlier, it is a little bit of a grower though..

The only slight downfall is the male vocalist. He tries to handle the male “metal” vocal parts and really doesn’t have the voice for it.

(Give 'em a call Lance)

The Butcher’s Ballroom disc has been on my CD player for nearly a week now non-stop. The last album, I can think of that I did that with was Saxon’s Lionheart.

I have been into DSO for over two years , and love them, they have a song on "Butcher's Ballroom" that I like to say is Heavy Metal Maracchia go figure, but it is a great song.

D:S:O are absolutely stunning. Hands down one of the best "new" bands around.
