Strange Time - Demonstration No. 1

Strange Time - Demonstration No.1
Self-released - 2005
By Philip Whitehouse

West Midlands-based punk three-piece Strange Time offer up four tracks of impressively professional-sounding music that manages to blend somewhat riot-grrl-esque lyrics with catchy arrangements, guitars that jangle and grind in equal measure, a forceful attitude, an engaging frontperson in vocalist/guitarist K. Finch, and an atmospheric standout track in the form of the relaxing-yet-disquieting 'Sweet Delusion'.

The group have been gaining enthusiastic reviews wherever they've played live over recent months, and judging from the musical accomplishment and professional attitude displayed by the tracks on this demo, we haven't yet heard the best from Strange Time.

7.5/10
