Boris w/Merzbow - Rock Dream
Anyone own or have heard this album? I believe it's now out of print (as there were only 5000 copies released). I got it like 2 days before they all sold out.
Anyways, I was just wondering what people thought of this collaboration. I can see this album getting a lot of mixed opinions. While nowhere near perfect, I think it's Merzbow's best collaboration with Boris to date. For the most part, they work pretty well together. Sometimes Merzbow just starts wondering as if not paying attention to any thing Boris is doing though. That and he kind of drowns out the band every once in a while. Other than that though, I think the CD is really solid. It has a good mix of all their styles spanning a good portion of their career.

It's pretty good. I had high expectations for that song as it's my favorite from Pink so I was just a little let down when they cut the song down to 13 minutes (though it's understandable), taking out a good portion of the drone passage. Otherwise, it works pretty well in a live setting.

Well, that song doe not have any real drone, just a ton of noise at the end. Amazing song. Pink is by-far one of my favorite albums of all time.

If you liked what you heard on those albums, check out Akuma No Uta.

I still haven't heard Flood. What's that album like?
Also, what do you think of Feedbacker?

Flood is a long, hour long, single track of bliss. While its not metal it does retain some heavy parts. I heavy suggest you check out Flood as soon as possible. Feedbacker is really solid AND ventures more into metal and drone.
