Freakin' Shot In The Dark
Well, I'm thinking aloud here.
I'm a bass player. Anyone here interested in collaborating in writing original music? We do it online. A Black Sabbath meets 13th Floor Elevators sort of music... Guitarists, drummers, keyboard players, other instrumentalists, interested? Serious musicians can PM me. |

Basically would work out as follows:
You have a guitar riff and/or a song structure in mind, you record it on your computer and mail it to me. I figure out bass parts and mail the guitar-bass combo to you. We have X who's our drummer, we send the guitar-bass combo to him, he lays down drum parts and mails it back to us. (I'd actually prefer recording bass over the drums) We then ask our vocalist Y to sing/growl/talk/whatever over the song...and Voila! However, we have instant messengers, webcams and skype which facilitate discussions and meetings.... |

it would seem like a really, really long time just to produce anything, because one phase of that wont produce anything that sounds good, you cant just pick a lick or a phrase and send it over and have someone else add their instrument on. you need to be together and jamming and constantly showing new ideas and trying new things. this process seems too disjointed and would take a really long time to see any results

Due to the discussion in the "chord help" thread i composed a little piece for classical guitar in G melodic minor. Anyone who is interested can get the GuitarPro 5 tab, an MP3 or a PDF version here: http://www.krickl.de/bernhard/musik/index.html
