musicians?

are there any musicians here? do you feel confident about heading into the music business with the music you have done? do you think that you will succeed?

there's thousands of musicians more talented out there who never made it, i'm not knocking my own abilities but I have to be realistic in knowing the chances are ridiculously slim of getting anywhere. i'm keeping music as a side thing/hobby.

yes I'm a musician, yes I'm confident in my stuff and right after summer I'll try to push it through in some places and I won't make commercial success... Then again if somebody would be willing to listen to it more than once I'd consider it success and that's quite likely to happen I guess... So change the last one to yes

It's not even the case of being dissappointed... The music I make is kind of niche so it's commercial success is doomed in the first place but I still want to share it with people, so that would define success for me

In a while I will have the first song done for my one-man project (plus I have lots of ideas lying around), and soon I will buy some new recording equipment. When that song is on tape, I'll have to try and think of a bandname, make a website, etc. I'm pretty confident about my music, although I don't think it will couldn't ever be more than a small underground 'success'. I'll just see where it goes, my dream is to put out an album (or albums) of my own, my dream is not to be populair or putting out millions of discs.

^ I see one man projects are rising in numbers these days... It's getting harder and harder to set up a good band plus you have full artistic control over what you do. The only problem is the impossibility of going live with what you do...

But that's life
