Jason Becker
I dont know if everyone here has heard of him or listened to him but i sugguest everyone do so. Listen to his album "perpetual burn" or his old band Cacophony in which marty friedman also played.
Jason has ALS, which means he is completely immobile and can no longer play the guitar. He does however continue to compose with his eyes through a language his father made for him. Please take a listen you wont be sorry... http://jasonbecker.com/

Not exactly a newsflash, but any excuse to remind people just what a great player Jason was and how fucked up an illness ALS is works for me! Pretty inspirational story, too, how he's already managed to overcome heavy odds just to still be here and has managed to keep making music, although sadly, not the way we'd all love to hear him do it!
Support stem-cell research already... enough of this bullshit!
