Anyone heard of the band Darkwater?

http://www.myspace.com/darkwaterofficial
Reminds me of Opeth. Sort of.

They sent me a random "friend" request on MySpace a while back, so I added them. They're not bad.

Almost too much... Their drum and guitar sound are eerily close to those on Images & Words, even the singer kind of sound like LaBrie.

I don't listen to Dream Theater, so I wouldn't know about that.

I like their bass and drum work. The singer isn't the best part of the band my any means, though.

Try Dream Theater, you will hear the resemblance (read clone)

They're obviously very good musicians, but I'm pretty sure DT could sue the bejeezus out of these guys if they wanted to!

That said, I think I actually prefer it to what DT is putting out these days.

I think, for a first album, they did a damn fine job! I will agree that they are not unique at all, and do have lots of DT influence, but I'm not complaining, as I like DT too. They're still a really young band, and hopefully they'll make some good decisions in the future. As far as vocals, he does sound similar to Labrie 15 years ago. Oh well, heavy DT influence, but only the first record. I'm interested to see which direction, if any, these guys may go.

I like 'em!
