Just give them a few quick lessons in ale-quaffing, war paint application and longboat-sailing. There may be hope for them yet.

we should get them involved in the longboat, they can be some of the rowing slaves, it'll give them experience in the life of epic!

I always thought a viking version of the boy scouts would be a good idea. You could get badges for pillaging, quaffing a hornfull of ale in under 5 seconds, sailing a longboat correctly, turning animal-skins into functional evening-wear etc. The possibilities are endless!
