It sounds muddy because the playing is slightly sloppy (and did you use old strings, like older than a day?) and the guitars have slightly too much low mids in general on the guitars. Also now that I've listened to it a bit more, is it just me or is there bass guitar in the mix? Only guitars and drums? If this is true, that is why the mix sounds muddy.

When this started playing, I thought it was supposed to be a cover of this song: http://youtu.be/dhncwAYxfZA
Too much low-end on the guitars, no audible bass, too much drum compression.

Totally going to scrap and redo, the strings were about a day and a half old, think the guitar had too much gain and that made it too prominent and muddy along with the fact that they were too loud?
Totally going to redo that shit. Thanks lads x |
