I suppose Metallica and Iron Maiden are perfect exemplified names but myself I always thought Queensryche was an Ace, I mean it doesnt take much creativity to come up with alot of the names out there.
About AC/DC - AC/DC was commonly used and only meant one thing in the States prior to the band coming out, so we needed a bit of time to adjust. They probably deserve props for the term going out of use. By the mid 80's it would have been like "oh... he's AC/DC" response "Hey man... you going to the concert"...... lol

Black Sabbath and Judas Priest are easily some of the best metal names you can have. They both just sound bad ass and evil.

Chronical Diarrhoea. I just remembered a student lent me their album "Salomo Says", it was damn funny at the time.

Judas priest = bob Dylan song.....The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest....that's where they got the name....check it out you have the Internet!!!
as for other cool names..
Marduk = name is derived from the Babylonian name of a late-generation god from ancient Mesopotamia, Marduk, patron deity of Babylon.
Mesopotamia is also now known as Iraq.
testament = Definition: A solemn, authentic instrument in writing, by which a person declares his will as to disposal of his estate and effects after his death.
Can be replaced easily with "her"..."their"
but enough of that horse shit...
it depends on the band and what they are conveying.
One would have to look into a bands actual meaning and see if it applies
