Metal Church - This Present Wasteland
01. The Company Of Sorrow
02. The Perfect Crime
03. Deeds Of A Dead Soul
04. Meet Your Maker
05. Monster
06. Crawling To Extinction
07. A War Never Won
08. Mass Hysteria
09. Breathe Again
10. Congregation
Yeah, it has already leaked (the official release date is September 26th).
I have listened to it a few times and I can say that although it is a worthy album and I like it, is not as good as I always expect from Metal Church.
Anyone else?

I have only listened the 3 songclips in their myspace music. They´re Ok but nothing special. Nearer (in terms of quality) to "Weight of the world" than to "A light of the dark" (better than "Weight..." IMO)

It sounds solid but quite predictable, much like the other two with Munroe (who's a great fit for the band btw). Worthy of the Metal Church name, sure, but they would not have achieved their cult status if their early albums had been like this.
Nothing really stands out and makes you pay attention, it just rocks along...(these are just my initial thoughts after one Youtube-quality listen though, I'll probably be buying it in September and give it a real chance).

Barely. I've had this disc for three weeks now and just began to listen to it over the weekend... It's a step up but this is a far cry from The Metal Church that I grew up listening to...

I really enjoyed the album. I'm not a big fan of post-human factor MC, but this disc is quite good. Their new singer sounds quite a bit like Dio.

In my opinion, "The Weight of the World" is the best album of the Munroe era and no, I don't think that "This Present Wasteland" matches it.
But it is also an enjoyable album. Quite different, with more slow songs like "Deeds of a Dead Soul" (which is great). I need to listen to it more carefully and that's why I won't put it again until the official release.

The album is already out, but it has not arrived to Europe yet.
Did anyone of our American friends get it?

I had a copy since around early August. I actually just gave it away to a guy that works with my wife on Sunday. He likes it more than I did, so it found a home...

Hey Sixx, if you've got other discs that "need a home", send 'em my way.
