The Greatest Metal Ballads of All Time thread

dont you love it when your favorite metal band goes soft for a moment and does a ballad? the crowd simmers down a bit, waves their hands/lighters in the air and sings along... some moist eyes here and there. and then the guitar solo kicks in and you're like "YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!" and start to slow-headbang passionately

so what do you think are the greatest metal ballads of all time?

Although I'm no big fan of Twisted Sister, I thing The Prize is a good song. Heart's Alone as well. And of course the mighty Candlemass' Samarithan and Black Sabbath's Changes. Not the disgusting Sharon Osbourne's Mtv Project Version, but that goes without saying.

Scorpions - "You And I" what a great fucking song, not a propular choice but a great song, good hooks, great chorus and the guitar playing is fantatsic!

MSG -"Gimmie Your Love" A catchy riff and the guitarwork is classic Schenker.

Metal Church - "Watch The Children Pray" One of David Wayne's shinning moments.

Buckcherry - "Carousel" this has a great twangy riff that sounds like it could have been lifted from an oldschool country album. This song should have been released as a single, it's very fresh.

Motley Cru
