Driving 8 hours to Boise...
just to see Opeth. Haven't had much of a vacation in 10 years so it's road trip time!
Called the Knitting Factory and they haven't presold much and I'm hoping that Opeth doesn't cancel cuz the show is not going to sell out. But I'll be there ready to rock my face off! ![]() |

Crono101: whatever! I've lived in Boise all my life and have really enjoyed this city. I know that Idaho is kind of a "backward" state (very conservative and Republican), but the crime is very low and larger acts are finally making it here, such as Opeth!!!
![]() 4speedmetal: hope you make it here in once piece, and will get to see the fucking Opeth show on Monday night!!! I'm so excited and can't wait! You should still be able to get into the show, as it has not totally sold out, and probably won't, as the Knitting Factory in Boise holds 1,000 attendees, and I don't think there are that many Opeth fans in this town. But it will be an amazing gig!!! |

No offense meant. It was just a dirty town. I'm not used to the lack of greenery and whatnot. Enjoy your Boise. Also, is it pronounced BOYS-EE or BOYS? Because we couldn't figure that out.

A lot of these high desert western towns turn brown after the middle of July. It drys out and the wind picks up the dust. Uggh, the fucking dust. Only one cure for all that dust... Beer. A lot of these western states have great mirco-breweries. High quality beer brewed on site. Yummy I don't much like cheap beer anymore. Found it's worth it to spend the extra money for a good beer. Does drinking beer and moshing go together? |

I never thought I'd be posting about Boise on an Opeth forum, but, here we go.
I am not a native Idahoan, but I lived there for a while back in the 90s. I've traveled the world in the meantime, and I still think that it's a fantastic place. Sure, some of the suburbs may seem like your typical dusty town, but the Downtown, North-End (with Hyde Park) and university area are really excellent, with a lot of greenery. There is an awesome bike path that goes on for miles and miles by the river, the access to hiking, mountain-biking and skiing is phenomenal, and people are nice. Hope you guys have a great Opeth show! |
