The concept album Path

Looking to Opeth's future, it seems a concept album in my mind would be the correct path for this band to truly flourish.
Micheal's lyrics have always excelled when centered around a concept ( MAYH , and SL, both concept albums, with a plethora of enchanting lines) aswell as his other musical talents. Hopefully, with praise and acclaim they would move on to more .... other experimental projects. This post is not to say that concept albums by Opeth are considered less "good" , but to forge a story with music is in my opinion the most beautiful thing a musician can do, and a musician of Micheal's ability in my favorite genre is a blessing.

Indeed, some of his most beautiful lyrics are from MAYH and Still Life. Concept albums are great.

Concept albums when done right, like how Opeth does them are great. Bad concept albums are painful to listen to.

Some examples of bad ones..... Just to know what to avoid.

But I concur. Good ones = Masterpieces. Bad ones, well, are messes.

Agreed! Pretty much every lyric I enjoy from Opeth centers around a concept.
